(Fell on 31st of Ocotber and the waxing moon in 2008, in the Southern Hemisphere. For information on the Southern Wheel of the Year, click label at end of post.)
Beltane 2008 was the anniversary of my first turn round the Neopagan Wheel of the Year.
Unfortunately, work and other committments prevented me from making it to a Sydney circle or to the Bealtaine camp.
However, I made private observance at home as usual. I decorated my altar in red, white and green. I put a silver bough on the goddess side and a group of white candles on the god side, and made the Great Rite in symbol with my BHK (athame) and chalice.
I asked for a good year for all, particularly in light of the current economic troubles, and that my own seeds planted this year grow to fruition.
