Bush tucker is bush food, produce of the native plants and animals. Non-Australian readers should note it is not available in supermarkets and shops. A small range is available in a few gormet shops and restaurants.
Online & in the shops:
Bush Tucker Shop
This site has a long list of retail outlets Australia-wide. International readers, I think there were also some outlets in N.Z., the U.K., Europe and the Americas.
I have used their roasted wattle-seed in icecream and highly recommend it. It has a flavour best described as chocolate hazelnut coffee. The wattle-seed icecream recipe is on their website.
A Taste of the Bush
Also has a list of retail outlets.
I have not tried their products yet.
Reading:
Australian Bushfoods Magazine
There was also a selection of books on the Bush Tucker Shop site.
Les Hiddins, the Bush Tucker Man, is a recommended read.
